This figure summarizes the driver-identification analysis used in the paper. Each coloured square is a target p nucleus. Each linked circle is a reaction rate displayed as the parent nucleus of the corresponding (γ,n) channel.
The three site labels correspond to the three nucleosynthesis calculations compared in the paper: W7, M25z14, and M25z01S4. Coloured shells around driver circles indicate in which site(s) that driver is retained.
For each target p nucleus and each analysis window, candidate reaction rates are first conservatively screened. The retained rates are then analysed with a Random Forest model and interpreted using SHAP main and interaction effects. Rates with strong direct and coupled contributions are retained as drivers, and only rates recurring across windows are displayed here.
The optional background layer colours nuclei by reaction-rate uncertainty, using the max/min rate ratio. It is useful for checking whether important drivers coincide with large theoretical rate uncertainties.
